For the National Park Service in Alaska, over a 3 year period beginning in 1992, Bettisworth North designed a series of staff housing projects for remote sites in all regions of Alaska. These sites included Bettles, Anaktuvik Pass, Coldfoot, Nome, Denali Park, Skaqway and Glacier Bay. Housing types varied from single family and duplex units, to multi-family and "bunkhouses".

The Glacier Bay Seasonal housing project is comprised of eight "apartments" with 21 bedrooms in three separate buildings. The buildings are duplex and four-plex configurations aligned along a board walk. A "craftsman style" character of the buildings is reminiscent of the early twentieth century homes in Gustavus, Juneau, and the other communities of Southeast Alaska. Since the housing was to be constructed on undeveloped park land, great care was taken to integrate the units into the landscape. For this reason, the units were constructed on wood piers rather than spread footings, in this way significantly reducing costs and the impact on the site.
