FY01 Enlisted Dormitory, Eielson Air Force Base

This innovative and creative scheme fully satisfies U.S. Air Force requirements, while at the same time offering a new dormitory of residential appeal, compatible with the surrounding natural and built environment, and which will serve as a model for future dormitory development. The building houses 120 grade E-1 to E-4 enlisted personnel and consists of 60 residential units/modules each with a shared kitchen/dining area, toilet/bathroom, and 2 separate living/sleeping rooms with private lavatory, and walk-in closet.
This facility is the first at Eielson Air Force Base to support full integration of Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection. It also represents an unprecedented effort to maximize natural light to improve the living environment during the Alaskan winter months when daylight is a premium.
